Back to thread derailment, that song / video clip is amazing! I actually cried with laughter when the harsh vocals started and that monster puppet was doing them.

production is pretty lovely, I'm afraid it just makes me want to listen to Origin though, who do exactly what these dudes are doing but far more interestingly.

And anyway, as far as Aus DM goes, why waste your time with the tech when it has some of the filthiest, putrid, rotten and decrepit sounding death metal the world has ever seen?

Origin are one of the few tech death bands that realise you can still have simple song structures and riffs. Tech is just a way of describing that particular riffing style. I mean most of the memorable riffs that Paul wrote for Antithesis really aren't that complicated at all, they are just very fast and they evoke that tech feeling/sound (example: the opening riffs on Finite and the Aftermath)

And last I heard, Internecine Excoriation were slowly and steadily working on new material in between their commitments to other projects, and yes, big Portal fan, as well as Impetuous Ritual \o/
I've heard OF disentomb, but not HEARD them. Well I might have, I can't remember
