Yeah I have picked up this on FB as well, apparently many people have died because of these fuckers. I saw a graphic picture today as to what the stings look like, they leave deep crater holes in you.

According to Wiki, these wasps have a venom that basically dissolves the flesh around the sting(Which explains those disgusting craters.).

The article linked says:

Experts believe the culprits to be the Asian giant hornet, which grows up to 5cm long with a 6mm sting.

If those are 5cm/2" then that's one hell of a small hand I say. It looks like a man's hand in the picture so those would be like 8-9 cm at minium. I say it's a fake as the one in the video looks totally different.

They are indeed Asian Giant Hornets, though the ones pictured in the OP are queens, the normal drones are "only" the size of a man's thumb (with 1/4" long stingers) and have been responsible for all the deaths - as will come as little surprise, climate change is to blame for their increased activity
