Insomnium Should Have A Forum Here...

I love Insomnium... they are one of the only MDM bands that really fuckin kick my ass. Every album is top-notch - the new album is a beauty & will probably been in my top 5 for the year, but ATWW is better.

I'm having trouble getting into their new album. It took me awhile to get into ATWW too (which I now consider one of the best MDM albums I've heard) but that's because I was new to Extreme Metal at that point. I'm not a big fan of their cleans in the new album, they sound like that guy from coheed & cambria.

I reckon the clean vocals are fine. They aren't over used and they add another dimension to the material - Above all else these guys are great fucking songwriters.

I wish they would perform some of those clean vocal songs on their tours. But it was a guest vocalist performing those songs. No one in the band sings.

And if they do perform some of those songs, who WILL sing them?

Anyway...this album is downright classic. My favourite of theirs. It all flows so naturally and is quite epic...

Actually, Ville Friman has been singing the choruses in "Where the Last Wave Broke" on their recent gigs. I heard he has a decent voice.

I've been into these guys since their first album, and praising their greatness ever since. It's good to see that I'm not alone! Not a bad album yet, but Since the Day It All Came Down is still my favorite. Very Opeth influenced.

I agree. I love the new clean vocals on the new album now.

Should be more of them, but as others here said. Good that they are not overused, even though I wouldn't mind some more. But it was a guest vocalist right?
