I just downloaded a metal / hardcore cover cd of The Cure's Disintegration. It's 11 / 12 songs from that album covered, but not in the order they were presented on the cd. Also, the covers are highly individualized and not much like the originals. The missing song is Lovesong, the most popular song off that album, and also the shortest.

The tracklist is:

1. Cave In - Plainsong
2. Chimaira - Fascination Street
3. Compression - Prayers for Rain
4. Another Nothing - Same Deep Water as You
5. Neck - Last Dance
6. Converge - Disintegration
7. Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza - Pictures of You
8. Home Thirty Three - Homesick
9. Together We Fall - Untitled
10. Voice of Reason - Lullaby
11. When Fear and Weapons Meet - Closedown

None of the covers really sucks, but three stick out as the best, the three bands I knew beforehand: Cave In, Chimaira, and Converge (what is it about the letter 'c'?)

Also, the Another Nothing is rather interesting, jumping from a very long rock song to some heavy metalcore with rabid screaming.

It's definitely worth a download, at the least.

Yeah, I have a few mp3s off of that disc...pretty damn good stuff, I'll probally get the rest sometime in the future, I guess.

Anyways, in late fall, this independent label is releasing a tribute to Guns and Roses featuring The Dillinger Escape Plan, Shai Hulud, Most Precious Blood, Nora, Aaron of Isis, Time in Malta, Haste, God Forbid, Taken, Vaux, Every Time I Die, and possibly two other special appearances on there as well. So look out for that one.

The only disappointment is that the real Disintegration is 72 minutes and this cover album is only 47... It should be longer. I think Lovesong is the song that I would like to hear covered the most from that album too...

Another similar cover album I got was a collection of 6 7'' singles from Hydrahead that were all covering Black Sabbath called In These Black Days.

Tracklist:

a1. Anal Cunt - Killing Yourself to Live
a2. Anal Cunt - It's Alright / Sabra Cadabra / Blow on a Jug
a3. Eyehategod - Sabbath Jam
b1. Brutal Truth - Cornucopia
b2. Converge - Snowblind
c1. Today is the Day - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
c2. Coalesce - Supernaut
d1. Cavity - Into the Void
d2. Cable - Planet Caravan
d3. Jesuit - Hole in the Sky
d4. Overcast - National Acrobat
e1. Cave In - NIB
e2. Botch - The Wizard
f1. Neurosis - Children of the Grave
f2. Soilent Green - Lord of the South

For this one, the Converge, Today is the Day, Cave In, Botch, and Neurosis covers all own as I would expect. Kind of low production, but definitely worth hunting down. The a single sucks though, but those bands suck so I also expected that. Anal Cunt are only good for humor, not musical value, and so a cover by them is just unnecessary.
