Vanishing Point are playing in Sydney next weekend if anyone is interested (and Canberra on Friday).
I thought that probably qualifies under the "Big Local Band" part of the heading :)

Ehhh....

VANISHING POINT FACEBOOK PAGE POST

"Why isn't LORD touring soon?" Here's your answer. This is going to really fuck up the tour earnings for those guys. :( We've dug down in the studio to get the next release written and recorded for when this properly blows over.

The other thing we learned when we did the Fallen Idols tour was DO NOT FUCKING TOUR IN THE MIDDLE OF FUCKING WINTER. We played Canberra and it was like Dunedin cold, and we got a shit crowd because everyone was happy in front of the heater and TV already. Late spring tours for us now, thanks!

Oh yeah I was at that show. It was on the winter solstice, so rather a cold time of year!

The Vanishing Point show was meant to happen last year, but was postponed because of COVID. It's a shame it's had to be pushed back again.

I see Emma Ruth Rundle got ill, lost her voice and had to isolate in NZ instead of supporting Chelsea Wolfe's current tour down under. Not totally sure if it turned out to be COVID but very lucky it didn't lead to the whole tour falling over.

Just hoing home from the Black veiled brides gig at the roundhouse. Delayed a year then delayed a month cos the guitarist got covid. Lost $400 in accommodation bookings from that last delay. Touring now is tricky. Cant say i blame you...

Not metal (well, they don't play the material that got them into Encyclopaedia Metallum these days), but since I mentioned them on the previous page, Cockney Rejects rescheduled with a new promoter after the other one dropped them. Great news!

Just saw this on FB. I've seen Sebastian Bach a few times but never Skid Row. I might go check them out.

SKID ROW return down under in December with a renewed vigour and on the back of a brand new album, "The Gang's All Here" (Out Oct).
They have never sounded so good. All shows selling very fast.

I'd go along if they were playing in Canberra. I think it'd be interesting to see them, and the new vocalist is meant to be decent.

I'd be keen to take my daughter to see Babymetal, but they're not playing in a city I'm going to be in. Oh well.

Dunno if you guys are into GHOST. If you've never heard them, I'd call them pop metal.

I'd call them some kind of rock band. Kind of in that occult rock thing. They started out slightly more metal, but ironically I probably hate their latest stuff slightly less.

I bought tickets to take my girlfriend. I've got tickets for Skid Row, Ghost and Babymetal so far this year.

Funny, I was slagging on Ghost a bit for being pop-ish, and they dropped a pretty decent cover of Maiden's Phantom of the Opera today.

I've been listening to their recent cover of Jesus He Knows Me a bit too.
