More brutal death metal! I've struck it lucky this month. This time round it's Slovakian death/grind lunatics Into The Gore assaulting my ear drums, and they do a damn fine job of it too!
Clocking in at just under half an hour in length, the ten tracks on this CD don't really have time to mess around. So, as you might expect, album opener 'Where It All Gets Down To' gets straight down to the business of loosening the listener's bowels with a screeching feedback wail, some seriously fast drumming and then a crushing riff with a fair bit of low-end intensity backing it up.
The music spasms and jerks between time signatures, and this seems to work in the album's favour - the constant jarring melds well with the unrelenting intensity of the sound, keeping the listener on their toes and constantly banging their heads, even if they can't quite keep up with the constantly-changing beat .
So, some brutal death grind with interesting song structure ideas and enough aggression to put the average football hooligan to shame? Yes please.
8.5/10
