Intro: Trapped - DEAD BY APRIL

Good evening everybody.

I've been doing sound tests with an intro from a song of the band DEAD BY APRIL. I wanted to try new configurations of the bass and electric guitar amps. Listen to it and tell me if you have liked it or the improvements that it would be able to have.

P.D.: Instruments have a secret ... A little detail... D'you wanna know what it is?

Javi Perera - Trapped INTRO (DEAD BY APRIL)

Hope enjoy!:headbang:

This is soundin really good I think. The guitars n bass n kick fit really well together. The cymbals are pumping quite a bit and are a touch loud. The snare is letting down the whole mix.

actually, the guitars don't sound like they're hardpanned. They sound quite narrow. And the one on the left sounds closer to center than the one on the right? Am I goin crazy?

Well, I think so, you are going crazy, hehehehe. The guitars are totally panned. Cymbals yes, perhaps sound a little high of volume. What is the problem that you see to the snare? :S

Well, the secret of this test is...

... that all of these instruments are sampled.

And when I say "all", I mean ALL... Even guitars, in case you are asking yourselves (yeah, guitars are a VST instrument)

How have I done this? With this instruments:

Drums: Toontrack Superior 2.0
Bass: Chris Hein Bass + IK Ampeg SVX
Guitars: Prominy SC + Peavey Revalver MKIII

I am a tricky person, isn't that so?

haha that's cool!

Wow, impressive! could never have guessed that, first time I've heard sampled guitars sound so good. Is that why you didn't remove the string dampening noise at the end? :p
