which of this technical metalcore acts is superior?

I think personally i enjoy Ion Dissonance more, but DEP are definately great as well.

I agree with you. I think Ion Dissonance is the better band. DEP only released one album that was really good, Calculating Infinity. Ion Dissonance has only released one album and it is very good. I expect great things from them.

I prefer DEP, though thats probably becuase they were one of the first metal/hardcore bands that I really got into. They've released more than one good album, the new ones is pretty decent, tho its very different to CI. They've also had 3 excellent EP's on top of that. I quite like Ion Dissonance as well, but I just find their constant all-out assault style of music to be somewhat samey and lacking in variation at times, whereas DEP really do mix it up with a broad range of styles and sounds that really make for an interesting and intriguing listen.

Just heard Dillinger Escape Plan today, I'd say they are better than Ion Dissonance but both are good.

DEP cant say Ive heard alot of the other bands stuff so its a bit biased of me to judge really. I think Miss Machines a pretty good album I like the artwork aswel although like someone else has already said its really different from CI

DEP are better than ID for me, but am looking forward to hearing much more of ID stuff as it is incredibly heavy!

Since hearing Miss Machine not too long ago, I'm going with DEP by a longshot, but Ion Dissonance's debut is still really strong.

Why is this in non-metal by the way? I'd say both bands are metal as figgity fuck.

DEP is so freaking ridiculously better than Ion Dissonance. They're good too and all, but that's just fucking stupid. DEP are living gods.
