can someone explain the situation in north ireland? (the IRA, protestants, catholics, etc.)sadly it's something we dont learn in school over here.

That goes into probably a lot more detail than you'd need to know, but yeah its accurate enough. All the main details are in place, there's never any guaranteeing the finer points, people remember them differently.

There is also reports that the IRA were involved in an attempt on the Queen's life at the opening of the Sullom Voe oil terminal here in Shetland. There was a bomb went off there that day but I don't think they ever found out who it was.
