Hey there, I need some fresh ears on my mix:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3357861/In the Hall of Screaming Skulls.mp3
-Snare is under parallel compression and layered one sampled one natural
-Guitars are the On-Off-Axis (as per the Clayman tone thread) running through C4 and Rolled at 100Hz and 10KHz, slight dip at 2.8KHz
-Bass guitar is DI -> Sansamp Psa-1 -> Compressed
-Kick is layered one sampled and one natural
-etc, more info if needed
To me it sounds as if the bass is clouding everything up; it sounds nice and spaced out until I add it in.
It could be my monitors (M-Audio BX5a) or the fact that my bass' strings weren't all that fresh (LTD 500 series 5 string)
If there is any tips on improving it that would be appreciated. I can't figure out what to do next, brain is mush from too much mixing...
Thanks for your time
