Is the Intel i7 2600K still the best deal for CPUs right now?

Hey, guys. I'm thinking about building a new pc soon and looking at parts. It looks like the i7 2600K has the best performance for the price right now. Would you argree?

Does anyone here know if Intel is releasing anything new in the near future that maybe I should wait for?
 
From what I've researched, yeah, by far.

The mobos for it don't support as much RAM I think (as with more expensive processors), but @16GB is still very much ok for VSTi work (and last I've heard, some soft and/or hardware was not yet up to the task of efficiently handling +memory?)

BTW DDR3 is supposed to keep on going cheaper at least till year's end :D (w DDR4 appearing on 2014)
