Is there anything more primal than playing drums?

Set up my kit for the first time in about 8 months, played it quit a bit tonight. Had a few laughs, some drunkin' kicks, and even wrote a beat for one of my band's songs (we have a pseudo-drummer at this point, but I'm still pulling full rhythm section for recording purposes).

Other than maybe sex, I can't think of anything more animalistic than beating the shit out of some skins whether for fun, profit, shits, or even giggles.

If you're really really good it's anything but primal, but the way we regular wankers do it (Hit everything as hard as possible for 30 seconds, pass out) it could certainly be considered primal
