Is there some useful "hearing/ear test" online?

Listened through my BX8As at a normal listening volume. If I couldn't hear a frequency I turned the volume up to check if I could when it was louder. If I could hear it then, then I counted it as being able to hear it since I could hear it, even though I had to turn it up it still means that my hearing is still functioning in that frequency range. You get to a point where you don't even register a sound happening at all which is what I consider not being able to hear it.

The link R-Stuur posted is for checking your ears for the Fletcher-Munson effect (but probaply could be useful for checking speaker/room frequency response) - I've made a topic about it ("Web based tool for measuring equal level contours") :)

Here is a tool for checking hearing, and it's also a tool for developing eq skill (identifying frequency, Q, and boost/cut amount):

For a quick hearing test choose internal generator and sine wave, then you can adjust the frequency of the wave. For eq training choose the pink noise.

At what volume can you guys hear 16k? I can hear it when its louder like -6 or -12 but it makes my head feel weired! I'm sure my cats freaked out as well.

I could really hear everything at -36 except 16k which i need to be at -12. That mean I'm losing my hearing up there?

Ok now THAT would be def. hearing loss.
But are you sure you listened with headphones that enclose your ears?
If not, than this test would be completely useless.

I can hear 16khz at -54db right now but I just came back from rehearsel and didn't cover my ears which was A BIG MISTAKE.
Before I could 16khz it around -57db.

nope i was using speakers. I will try with headphones later and get back with yea on that.

It was weired 125 and i think it was around 180, whatever it was on the test was quieter and i think it was my room and were i sit. I have some bad standing waves in my square room and im sitting almost right in the middle.

that 16kHz sine at around -6 made my eyes water!

Yea made me feel funny as well. I'm surprised i can even hear that after all the damage i have done to my ears. I want to say its just one side of my ears that even hears it cause i had a Skid Steer tire explode when i was driving and totally fucked my hearing up on one ear. I could only hear ringing for days. Plus i used to have a competition with my other guitarist at the time of who could be the loudest. This went on for several years. Yea and of course i never wore ear plugs back than. :erk:
