Semi melodic guitars provide ample groove, and make the music memorable and entertaining, under which the bass is powerful and tuneful. Pounding drums are solid, while the vocals vary from guttural growls to black-metal style shrieks. This – combined with the tongue in cheek, always entertaining and entirely indecipherable lyrics – creates a very entertaining listen. There’s not a great deal of originality here, but Isacaarum pull off their music with style. A decent production job for the style is also welcome.
As a bonus, Shibari Kata And Other Practices (SK is Japanese rope BDSM… just FYI) contains a video for ‘Shit Paintress’ showing exactly how that works. Little is left to the imagination. More perverted – and probably happier – than a geriatrophile in an old people’s home, these insane Czech grinders come highly recommended for those who like their music harsh yet light hearted.
