Holy Diver. It was a tough one. Although I ruled out Queensryche from the beginning -- how can an EP stack up against full albums? :loco: :)

Metallica comes pretty close second though, I remember buying 'Kill 'm all", rushing of to some friends and we were headbanging in one guys room through whole te record...Never got that spark on later Metallica records, Kill'm All remains my fav Metallica...

great year! i agree, you cant stop rnroll is a good album. the other songs besides the title track kick major ass! unless the releases are broken down into specific styles....too many good l.p.s to choose! lick it up would be on my list as well and im sure a few others if i could remeber em' lol.83' -the year of metal!

"It was a good year"!

It was a GREAT year!

I too would add KISS Lick it Up!

I chose: **too many classics to choose from!

The only ones I didn't ever buy on that list was Saxon, Slayer, and Mercyful Fate, and most of the ones I did buy I still listen to on a regular basis!

1983 ROCKS! :headbang:

How can you blame anyone stuck in the 80's? :p

You know? I owned almost all of those. I remember being dissapointed with Flick of the Switch. I was blown away by Mellissa and Show No Mercy. I didn't find Kill 'em All as groundbreaking as the rest of the world, but liked it. I was addicted to Holy Diver, Power and the Glory, Piece of Mind, and Born Again. I thought Into Glory Ride was great. I will admit to owning Shout at the Devil, Metal Health, and Pyromania (and loving them), but for my money none of them stands the test of time. Just saying. Oh, and, yeah, You Can't Stop Rock and Roll is awesome. Truth is, all the Twisted Sister records were great.

If I had to choose one, and that's hard, I'd say Mellissa. But then I think of that album as one of the 5 best of all time. Funny how much good shyte came out that year!

This is easily the hardest thread of all of these threads we have had so far.

In the end, it was Melissa though

I have to agree with Wheezer about the EP thing, and QR is my favorite band ever. I do not agree that ALL TS albums are great. Ever hear Love is For Suckers? Come Out And Play has it's moments, but there's a lot of crap on there, IMO.

That being said...

Maiden
DIO
Metallica
Slayer
Accept
M. Fate

Lick It Up is awesome, too.

I own all of those except Manowar, Motorhead and Saxon.

Too many indeed, but "Piece Of Mind" wins simply because was the album that started it all for me (I'm still have that tape copy).

I went for:

Def Leppard – Pyromania

Followed by:

Mötley Crüe – Shout At The Devil
AC/DC – Flick Of The Switch
Dio – Holy Diver
Kiss – Lick It Up
Ratt - Ratt
Iron Maiden – Piece Of Mind
Van Halen – 1984
Kix – Cool Kids
Ozzy Osbourne – Bark At The Moon
