I just picked up his first album and was amazed at his talent.

I am, i don't listen to his stuff everyday but he was a very talented man.
I have the punk jazz anthology and one instructional video of his (it's in youtube this days)

Yep, I'm a fan. The guy who made my bass guitars was a Jaco nut and got me onto his stuff. The solo album is awesome. The biography about his life is a great read as well, so tragic how he died after losing his mind. That instructional video was actually filmed when he was living on the street, they had to put him up in a hotel and make sure he detoxed first before they could film it.
