James... John Tardy involved in a hip hop project?

I just revisited the timeline, and it would appear as though you would not have any clue what the eff Tardy is up to!

But, if you do have any information James, Id love to know about it because good hip hop is a culture I am very interested in!

i wouldn't have the slightest idea... i was only in obituary for a year or a bit more, and have only spoken to john very casually since then and only on a very few occastions. it's been 14 years since i really knew what he was up to. i'm also not interested in hip hop culture or music in the least.

Splastik... Thanks again for the link and implied prior knowledge. I just listened to all the teaser tracks. You saved me 12 bucks cuz Im not buyin this necro joint!

Did you check the main url? http://www.necrohiphop.com/ some kinda porn star collab?! Hmmm.

I have to know... Since you knew about that Necro project are you into hip hop? Surely you know Kool Keith and his aka's?! Dr. Dooom is perfect. That sream of consciousness combined with this full on spook beat and that "Im very hungry" line. This tune is about Dahmer, ya know! Some of these dudes have some meter and rhythm that almost parlay into guitar lines.. if that makes any sense. Tis why I like it.

shit hooks me.

I actually heard about the Necro thing from blabbermouth a long long time ago... There's a wikipedia thing on him too talking about how he's into death metal and stuff...

I'm actually somewhat (only somewhat) knowledgeable in hip hop though. I was roommates with a DJ for a good 8 months who was very big into the whole hip hop culture. So he'd always be scratchin and playing all sorts of hip hop and records by turntablists. He also happened to like a bit of metal, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Sepultura, and would incorporporate it into his beats and stuff he'd make, so I introduced him to a bunch of metal he'd never heard of. He was pretty good too and has won a few big DJ battles. I'm not really big into it though there is a lot of good music. I learned to appreciate it a lot, especially since I didn't really like it at all before we were roommates. There's a lot of talent despite what some might say.

Somewhat unrelated but I met him in high school as a junior at a thrift store. We were digging for vinyl and I found something I wanted and he was looking at me hoping I was going to set it down and not buy it as he wanted it too. Then he saw me at school the next day and introduced himself. 2 years after high school we were roommates in college. Apparently he just found a record at a thrift store for $1 this month that's worth $1000... here's his myspace if you're interested... http://myspace.com/astronomar

I know Dr. Dooom quite well :D I probably would have seen Kool keith when he was here last year but I lacked funds, same when Digable Planets came :\
