MARTY FRIEDMAN, JAMES MURPHY To Guest On New FIREWIND Album - Aug. 18, 2004
Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman and ex-TESTAMENT/DEATH axeman James Murphy have contributed guest solos to the upcoming FIREWIND CD, tentatively titled "Forged By Fire". The disc, due before the end of the year through Leviathan Records, features lead vocals by Chity Somapala (ex-AVALON, FARO), who replaced Stephen Fredrick in February. Band leader/guitarist Gus G. is acting as producer and the CD is once again being mixed by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Kill 2 Live", "Beware The Beast", "Land of Eternity", "Feast of the Savages", "Escape From Tomorrow" and "Hateworld Hero".
FIREWIND issued their second album, "Burning Earth", last year through Leviathan Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Between Heaven and Hell" was recorded at Leviathan, A29 and Mediamaker studios in the USA, Greece and Norway between April and June 2003 and was produced by David T. Chastain and Gus G.
