Janne and other Finnish metallers to contribute to new Hevisaurus album?

Hevisaurus is a "metal band" for children quite like Lordi, but targeted to even younger audience (5-10 year-olds). They dress in dinosaur costumes, play overly cliché'd metal/hard rock riffs and sing about dinosaurs. The whole thing has a litte "manowar for kids" feeling. They have song titles like "Kings of Jurassic Metal" "The Last Mammoth" etc. The main members of the band are same guys as in the band Thunderstone, and there are a lot of famous people from Finnish metal scene contributing to their new album. Their songs are really not THAT bad, but the whole concept and lyrics are so gay, that it just blows my mind. It's like having to "teach" kids into listening metal.

Oh, wow. Thanks, Necro! Really, I should have known better than to post anything without checking MetalSucks.net first, but I hadn't had my morning coffee when I'd started this thread. Oops.

Granted, I've not seen it, but in principle I don't object to "metal for kids" - although I certainly understand your reservations. I'd heard that metal is mainstream in Finland (much like porn, apparently), but I didn't realize they exposed their children to it so young. In America, metal is still almost a counter-cultural phenomena. While people don't necessarily think it's acceptable to expose children to the metal side of the extreme music spectrum, rap is now mainstream enough to be acceptable for all kinds of kids' programming. I'll tentatively say, I wish America had something equivalent to Hevisaurus.

And good on Janne for participating! ...Erm, assuming anyone can confirm Janne DID participate in this?

I TOTALLY AGREE.
