hi just would like to ask for opinions on what jap built guitars should i buy for the home studio as i am new at recording i asked Japanese built guitar because as of now i live here in japan i might buy them used and cheap.

Go to a music store and try a few of them out. Buy and play what you like, not what people suggest you should.

We will, however, suggest Japanese Jacksons and ESPs. The finest of fine production line guitars for metal. But look for local companies, you might find something you like even better.

Im not a fan anymore of Japanese Jacksons
The 1990 professional models were great, the new Japanese Jacksons are built well, but don't sound too great ime.
Jackson stars rock though!
Hen again ESP, burny, caparison

There no Japanese Jackson on internal Japan market, there is Jackson Stars, Grover Jackson or Charvel (Charvel for internal market can be pricey and have significantly different specifications than export models). Also Grover Jackson can be early (up to introduction of Jackson Stars brand) and later, later can be considered as budget Jackson Stars, maybe closer to export Jacksons.

There is Killer guitars also, expensive :)

Aren't you afraid of radiations ?
For real I was wondering, just yesterday, if those japan built would be a bit radioactive.
They say it's like 10 times worse than Chernobyl...

A band I'm recording bought a Caparison recently. One of the best sounding guitars I've ever played. Get one if you can.

nope if i die its my time to die no worries.

prices on those caparison guitars are so expensive for me

You can pick up a Cap very cheap on the used market over in Japan. Around ¥80,000-¥100,000, depending on the model. Check out Yahoo auctions for deals that pop up once in awhile. Stores generally blow the older models out for a good price, but the inventory can be kinda hit or miss. I was in Tokyo a few months ago, and there was literally only one store that had them in Tokyo, and those were the new ones. Seems like nobody had any used ones for sale. I wouldn't bother with Chatting Bird.

As others have said the quality of Japanese built instruments varies from average to fantastic. Best to go play a bunch. I have a Japanese jackson that I love. It's no caparison but it cost 1/3 as much.

well i bought a used prestige with with dimarzio pickups dp158/159 hast dents no tremolo bar for like 425 usd no case:(

I have some Japanese Charvels That I really love from that 89-91 period.

The neck on my 375 deluxe is to die for.

Pretty much anything Fujigen makes are usually trustworthy guitars.

Ibanez Prestige, FGN, etc. Don't really know what else they make there nowadays, but their older Orville by Gibson and Epiphone Elitist guitars were also damn good.
