(I will go to almost any gig Maiden plays).

Unless there's a band I'm dying to see on this tour, I can't even imagine going despite the free tickets...

It won't even be CLOSE to free.
Think about it.
Sponsors will be paying those bills.
YOU will be paying the sponsors.
(IE - Sign up for a 2 year cell phone contract, and get free OZZFEST tickets).

It won't be as easy as, "Come to this website and print out your free ticket"

Sharon is deferring the cost to the sponsors.
She will cut costs by having bands with small to no guarantees perform.

She will still earn plenty from merchandise, advertising, etc.

It really isn't as novel of an idea as she is making it seem to be.

I've no doubts or illusions about any of this... It wouldn't surprise me to see Sammy Hagar truly tour for free before Ozzfest truly comes without cost...
