Jay Jay Brown was interviewed by Metal Matt and the bassist spoke about his time with Fight. Fight was Rob Halford’s first post-Judas Priest band and they released two albums. The original lineup featured Priest drummer Scott Travis alongside guitarist Russ Parrish (aka Satchel from Steel Panther), and guitarist Brian Tilse.

On working alongside Satchel:

“It was funny because Russ always be like ‘Stay on your side of the stage’ because I’d run all over the place. He’s like, ‘Jesus Christ just stay on your side man.’ I’m like, ‘Sorry man.’

“You know back then I was young and I was a nut you know, I don’t know how Rob put up with me.”

Possibility of a Fight reunion:

“Russ said he would be down and Rob was talking about it when I saw him last year up in Detroit, so you know, he said that he would like to maybe do even at least a couple shows just to celebrate what we did, but I mean I told him, ‘you better hurry up while we’re still all here.’”

Bassist Jay Jay Brown, who was a member Rob Halford’s band Fight, recently made a rare appearance in the clip below performing Judas Priest’s “Devil’s Child” alongside famous tattoo artist Bob Tyrrell on guitar, and Metal Matt on vocals (who got his name given to him by Rob Halford). This is the first time Jay Jay has performed Judas Priest songs since his time in Fight.

The clip was shared by Metal Matt via his official YouTube channel.

Fight was formed by Rob Halford following his departure from Judas Priest in 1992. The original line-up featured Halford, Jay Jay (bass), Russ Parrish (guitar), Brian Tilse (guitar), and Scott Travis (drums). They released two studio albums: War Of Words (1993) and A Small Deadly Space (1995) before disbanding in 1995.

Parrish would go on to form Steel Panther, and Travis was and remains a member of Judas Priest.
