both my supervisors at my work tried to tell me (until they were blue in the face) that jimi hendrix was the best that ever lived...even after I played a number of solos from various nevermore albums....

ignorance.......

I am going to type out the solo from the new Iron Maiden song.

jeff loomis shredding wouldve never existed if jimi never played the guitar!

I'm not saying Jeff is better than Jimi,I mean the comparision itself is stupid, because the different era and style, but stupid too is to say Jeff's and any other modern guitarist's shredding would've never existed without Jimi.

true. i guess you could say that he wouldntve been as influenced because im pretty sure he was somewhat influenced by him

indeed, it's all pretty much inane banter around this.

plus it's not like a sport with a clear defined set up rules, "better" is subjective, unless you say jeff is better AT _________ (insert better thing here) and then someone can reply with well jimi is better AT __________ and then the kids say 'nuh uh yer a retard' and the adults with their smug sense of age-old wisdom scoff

plus who cares who is better, at least we can acknowledge the fact that jimi's MUSIC > nevermore's MUSIC regardless of playing abilities in this context HA!

Well even if Jeff isn't into Hendrix, he's into Malmsteen who would gladly suck off Hendrix if he was still alive.
I think Jeff is better as far as technical proficiency, but Hendrix is more influential. I'm not really into Hendrix, but I won't deny his influence. So it's not really easy to say who is the better guitarist.

That's like comparing Yngwie to Batio. Batio is a lot better, but his style would not exist if it was not for Yngwie.

I am going to say this to the chorus of my super awesome (not really) favorite HOM song. Track 6.

Best... best is a duuumb word
rating bands is a stu.pid.concept.
no time for subtlety
war is upon us oh can't you seeee?

here in a stupid land
see how united us all we stand?
stupidity for every man
here in the stupid land

better ..better is kind of like best
holy fuck who cares
I really wish I had not replaced my lyric-book

When you quote like that, it makes me want to just be nasty.

I remember the other time you did it, all hot-like, to And When He Falleth. *swoon*
