Now come on, who the fuck else likes these guys?

I just heard them for the first time the other day, and I've got to say, they fuckin' kick ass! I think my favorite song right now from them is 'Songs from the Wood'.

Now how 'bout everyone else?

P.S. Yes, I'm drunk. Don't let it distract you.

I love Thick as a Brick and Songs from the Wood, some of Aqualung. The rest I've heard so far has bored me.

I said it in the Now-Playing-Thread already, but I'll say it again: My favourite JT albums are "Songs from the Wood", "Roots to Branches", "Warchild", and "Aqualung". In that order. Generally, there late-60s and 70s stuff is best, although the stuff from the 80s isn't bad. The only album I find boring is "Rock Island".

I'll say a bit more about their development in the 90s since I think that few people now about their "latest" outings. In 1995 they did "Roots to Branches" which is imo again very strong. They sound much fresher than during the 80s, new ideas, great songs, especially the title track, then "Rare and Precious Chain", "Dangerous Veils" and "Out of the Noise". In 2000, they did another studio album, "J-Tull.com". This is also better than most of their 80s stuff, although not as coherent as "Roots to Branches". I recommend the songs "Awol", "Black Mamba", "Far Alaska", and "Bends like a Willow".

You know, they did a Christmas album that is actually VERY good. One of my favorites.

Thick as a Brick is fun, and Aqualung is classic. My dad was a huge Tull fan and saw them when he was in college. One of the ways he tried to prove to me, when I was a kid, that he was actually cool. Kinda worked, tbh. :)

Saw them about 11, 12 years ago. Great show. I forgot what they played, but I remember the 2nd set was much louder than the 1st.

I know about the album. But I was never very interested in it bc it mostly contains christmas carols, some older Tull-songs and only a handful of new originals. But if you recommend it to me then I should give it a try. (Maybe time aswell to buy some Ian Anderson solo stuff.)

Haha, my dad also got me into Tull actually, as it is his favourite band, he has all their stuff. I agree that the Christmas album is worth checking out, some good stuff on there.

I think I'm going to see them in October. Although Anderson's voice isn't in the best shape anymore, I still can't wait to go to a show.

i own that album, its very good.

jethro tull is probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite band. i adore them, lol.

I still love it when people say "yeah, that Jethro Tull, he's good!" I just agree with them that "he" is amazing...:p And that "Best Metal performance" thing was good for him as well :Smug: That still kills me.

Anyway, it's been a while since I've really listened to Tull, but I used to be big into them. Thick As A Brick is a classic!!!

The Christmas album has some traditional songs, yes, but given the Tull treatment. It really is the perfect xmas treat, and as I usually only listen at Christmas time, it ends up being something I really look forward to.
