Jigsore Terror - World End Canage
Listenable records - posh062 - 12/10/04
By Patrick Walsh
If you're looking for state of the art super-modern-techno-spazz-grind (or whatever) then World End Carnage is most definitely not for you. It doesn't take long, about 5 seconds to be precise, to realise that this is old school through and through, having more in common with the likes of Repulsion and Terrorizer than your Nasums and Berzerkers.
That's not to say that Jigsore Terror (now I wonder where they could've gotten that name from?) are lacking in ability; when World End Carnage settles into a groove it can be quite engaging, and its strengths lie in a penchant for searing speed workouts interspersed with more headbangable moments. Many of the songs may seem interchangeable, but that's practically an inherent problem with grindcore anyway, so those of you looking for a raw, undiluted slice of grind that can hold its own with the 80s classics might want to seek this one out.
