I read many years ago that Jim Carrey is a big fan of death metal. Apparently his fav bands include Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and Napalm Death. This is why Cannibal Corpse ended up in Ace Ventura?

I do believe so. I remember hearing in the directors commentary for Ace Venturea that Jim REALLY wanted Cannibal Corpse to play in the movie, and they peformed "Hammer Smashed Face". He also has bi-polar disorder. :D

I read that too, Supposebly he hangs out with Chris Barnes and Alex often, There is another movie (forgot the title) where you hear cannibal corpse blasting in the car he's in speeding. I think it was Devoured By Vermin. Saw it a long time ago. I saw a picture of him hanging out with cannibal corpse.
Weird shit.

No shit?!?!?!?!?!? I NEVER would have imagined Jim Carrey a death metal fan! Wow......Ace is so much cooler now...

I like Carrey, what is it with canadians, they are funny people.

And for the record, some day I´ll do a cover of "Hammer smashed face" and of course change some lyrics, "Hamster smashed face"! :headbang:

On his special that I saw on Comedy Central he was doing a skit on AC/DC. Not death metal but I was surprised to see him do it. It was funny as hell too.

According to "Choosing Death: The improbable history of death metal and grindcore" (an essential read from I believe feral house publishing)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/203-9026406-0774306

Jim Carrey suggested Cannibal Corpse as he was (and is) a big fan of cannibal corpse.

THe funny thing was that on the set, the band were freaked out by his facial expressions, which he found funny considering the lyrics they write!

Great book by the way, amazing interviews and loads of stuff I didn't know, which impressed me because I'm a bit (lot) of a geek when it comes to metal lore and history...
