Ex-MÖTLEY CRÜE singer John Corabi says that he has no idea why Nikki Sixx "got a hard-on" for him after the MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist said in a recent interview that writing the "Mötley Crüe" LP with Corabi was a prolonged and difficult experience. Speaking with the "Noize In The Addict" podcast, Corabi was asked about a recent photo that surfaced online of him and MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil hanging out backstage together. He said: "I did a festival in Nashville that played Friday and Saturday night. I did an acoustic show opening for Tom Keifer [CINDERELLA], and then the following night I played electrically and opened for Vince. And Vince invited me to the bus right before he was getting ready to go on, and we were just bullshitting. And somehow somebody brought up that thing that Nikki said on the Internet, like a month ago, about the '94 record. And Vince and I were laughing. And I think he wanted to say something, but he didn't. And I'm just, like, 'Where did it come from, twenty-two years after the fact?' And then somehow, it went from that into the fact that when everybody saw that [Vince] and I were gonna be doing a festival together and then we're doing a cruise together, everybody just assumes that it's just gonna be a fucking slugfest. A lot of fans are, like, 'Oh my God! Corabi and Neil on the same boat. They're gonna kill each other.' And just as a joke, someone goes, 'I'll take a picture.' So I held up a pass. And I'm, like, 'Whatever.' I posted it. He posted it. And we're, like, 'Dude, it's really not what you think.'… So we did the photo and then… It's, like, whatever. Put it to bed. Put it to rest." According to Corabi, he has no issues with any of the other MÖTLEY CRÜE members, and he doesn't understand why Sixx seems to have something against him. "I get along with all the guys," John said. "Tommy [Lee] and I e-mail each other all the time, texting. Mick [Mars] lives in Nashville, so I see him all the time. Obviously, when I see Vince, we're fine. For some apparent reason, and I don't really give a shit either way, Nikki's got a hard-on for me." In an interview with Sweden Rock Magazine, Sixx said that writing the "Mötley Crüe" LP with Corabi was a prolonged and difficult experience. He said: I think it was a very unfocused record. It was painful for me, because John Corabi can't write lyrics, and I had to do all that work. "It was the first time I ever had to work with somebody that wanted to participate in the lyrics. And my standard is so high that it was so hard, it took months. Usually, I write a set of lyrics in an hour. "It's all about having pent-up information and aggression and just [letting it out]. It was just hard, because he was a nice enough guy, but he just didn't have that fire, and it was hard for me." Corabi told "Noize In The Addict" that was was surprised to learn of Sixx's comments after they were first published exclusively by BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "I didn't even know about it 'till… You know who sent me the original article? Mick!" he revealed. "He was laughing about it. He was, like, 'What the fuck?' I'm, like, 'Whatever.'" Released in 1994, "Mötley Crüe" ended up being a commercial failure in the wake of grunge despite a Top 10 placing on the album chart.
