But yes as far as great Aussie beer goes, you cannot beat Coopers. Boags premium is quite nice too.

Its on the alcohol, so the more alcohol in your product the greater the tax you pay. Excise taxes are normally used on 'undesirable' goods to deter people from buying them.. And VB is one of the most undesirable goods around

Got a giggle out of me...good one (although I do like a VB occasionally, and I didn't realise petrol (double taxed) was an undesirable product, especially after today's press conferences).

We've the 2c "Bicentenial levy" that was to create dual lanes around the country by the bicentanary. 3x3 road tax (3c 3 years, nearly 10 years old), excise, then GST rolled over the top of them.
