Any fans of this great folk collection? To me I think they are very, very amazing. Johnny Cash is the original American Badass :headbang: :kickass:
The atmosphere on all of the cd's are amazing. They also have some of the best covers of all time.

Got most of IV downloaded, I am listening to it now in fact. Got into it after hearing his cover of Hurt (better than the original in my humble opinon- as my friend put it "Trent Resner sounded like he was already dead, while Johnny Cash sounds like he was dying at the time"). I should really get my hands on some more, as, philistine as I may be, I prefer the later, more soulful stuff put out via American to the earlier country music.

R.I.P. Mr. Johnny Cash

Yeah I have all of the American Recordings stuff and it never gets old. Cash does a good cover of the Danzig song "13"

I really enjoyed "The Man Who Couldn't Cry" too, hilarious and sad at the same time..lol. Definitely an American music legend.

These cd's are amazing. All of Cash is great, but theres something so special about these. All are great, but my favorite is "Unchained". "American V" is comming soon, and I've heard one song and man is it hard to listen to. You can tell its comming from a man who knows he's dying, yet he still sings his heart out.

RIP Johnny.

Just got "V". What a record. For a hardcore Cash fanatic like I, it's kind of hard to listen to. Cash still sounds like Cash, but it's obvious he's on his last breaths here (he even mentions it in "Like the 309" saying "it should be a while before I see Dr. Death, so it would be nice if I could catch my breath"). That's the last original song Cash ever wrote, and it's an album highlight. Other greats are "Help Me" (that one's hard to not get emotional when listening to it), "A Ledgend In My Time" "God's Gonna Cut You Down" and Cash's verson of Hank Williams' "On The Evening Train".
