Jon Rice - Job For a Cowboy

well.. nothing special but does the work required for his band... and IMO
you do not need to have as much groove in that style..

( btw wich part of caracas are you shredder? )

This guy is good but just really lacks groove IMO - when he's not blasting or doing the thrash beat, his hands are super boring.

Their guitarist is the same way, though - zero feel in his leads, but great brutality in the rhythms.

Nail on the head.

The guitar player's leads are like a guitar pro track with better distortion.

Well i'm not a particular fan of this band/drummer, i guess he can do better =)
I'll see the band in their show here on the city, might be interesting.

@Espartaco; La California? sounds familiar?

dude we are really close i live in "green stick" haha ("palo verde" ) good to know another venezuelan around this place. :kickass:

Although I'm not a huge JFAC fan I do like them. I think they deserve way more credit than they get, they seemed to get bagged out here a lot. I met these guys not so long ago and they were bloody nice blokes.

Not a fan of JFAC myself. I'd say he was a decent drummer, but nothing amazing. Nothing in it that stands out. And I dislike the snare during the blasts, it just sounds really weak.

RE: the drums being boring outside of the blasts / fills.

Maybe that's intentional - honestly, if I was producing this, I would have told him to chill a bit in certain spots to let the song breath a little. It would be way too "over the top" if it was just insane blasts / fills the entire song - you wouldn't be able to concentrate on any other elements of the song.

The drums may not groove, but the rythm's make up for it, and as a whole, it definitely grooves IMO.

'87 - 23 = kid?

no.. '87 - 23 = '64 :) I couldn't resist

Anywho.. I like blastyblast drumming so it's all good to me, but I could never get in to JFAC though.. dunno why... but I think they definately deserve credit as musicians..

*EDIT* Second Thought: Genisis had some stuff I could get into, but Doom wasn't that great for me.
