Got this off a local radio stations website. Im not a Korn fan, but its nice to see Charlie is not the only musician who feels that AMerican fans basically suck.

Korn rocker Jonathan Davis has attacked his band's American fans, accusing them of being jaded.

The "Y'All Want A Single" hit makers are preparing to jet off for a number of gigs in Europe this summer - touring with Ozzy Osbourne's Ozzfest.

And Davis confesses he loves leaving the USA, because foreign fans appreciate his music more.

He says, "The fans there are so devout. American fans are kind of jaded. They get so much of it because we tour there all the time. Fans are like, 'Entertain me!' But in Europe they go buck-ass crazy. They just scream and pogo."

I actually have to admit, Europe and South America are particularly nuts for any music that's heavy. The fans there do seem to go nuts. THey love all heavy metal as far as I can tell. I think the problem in the states is too many people care about what's popular or cool. I mean, you gotta admit, our top stars are like freaking Britney Spears and crap like that.

Then again, Germany loves Manowar!!! I still think they are fun to listen to though!! :tickled:

well australia starved for the last anthrax gigs and we put 1000% into them, the chicago dvd was very similar to the sydney one, same type of venue.

Actually there´s crappier music goin on in Europe than in USA. God bless Britney Spears and Linkin Park. If you heard some european disco... but I have to admit, still it´s full of hungry metal maniacs. Anthrax will see for themselves 31st of July in Cz. :hotjump:

Good point. THey love disco and dance bar music too. I forgot that.

Even when i was in Yugoslavia, I'd be watching TV and I'd see a video for a popular pop band followed by Kiss and Megadeth! There's doesn't appear to be as big of a stigma associated with Metal as in the U.S. It's all good. Here, you rarely see any metal on mainstream video channels or on regular TV. I'm not saying there aren't a lot of metalheads, but there doesn't seem to be as much of an issue with metal in Europe or South America. Hell, didn't Sepultura have the number one song in the 90's in all of Brazil with Orgasmatron. Can you imagine Orgasmatron all over the TV in the Bible BElt. LMAO!!!:tickled:

Slappy--that's hilarious on hasselhoff. I remember Saturday Night Live used to make fun of that a lot. Particularly Norm McDonald.

I don't remember exactly what it was, but Sepultura one year won either the best video award or band of the year in Brazil. I saw it on MTV during the video music awards several years ago. They had all the foreign MTVs giving out their top awards during one segment and the Seps were the only metal band to win. I think this was for their Arise album.

i dont know if u can actually blame the american fans,if u see a band countless times u arent gonna be exicted as u used too, countries outside amercia are starved for these tours and would be obviously more pumped,at the sydney show we were prob putting more energy than the chicago show, shit i am gonna cop it know, but using that as an example when u havent seen your fave band for a few years let alone 8 years u are def going to be more enthusiastic about the live shows.

as far as appreciation u could use a fave restaurant as an exaple, when u first go there its second to none but each time u go there over the year or so its not quite as good as the first few times u went where as if u only went every couple of months u wouldnt lose that magic.

do u people agree where i am going on this?

I suppose non-european bands are held higher here than in their own homelands and many (at least swedish bands like In Flames) are more popular in the States than here cuz many swedes think they have gone too comercial. And the same thing goes for american bands. Ask any band who´s been out for their first tour abroad about it and they will talk about how "into it" their fans are "over there".

perfect example, in flames and children of bodom were 2 bands I so wanted to see back some years. Now, combining 2 bad cds in a row plus coming back to america tons of times In flames does nothing for me anymore.

eVerything is not perfect in germany, cannibal corpse can't play any songs live off of their first 3 cds over there thanks to censorship.

the reason some countries go buck crazy is they don't get to see tons of live shows all the time.

Fucking bastards in Germany. I did not know that. That's why I am so anti-censorship in the states.

Good points from all about the familiarity we have with bands. THat probably does play into it a lot. I still think American commercialism plays into it also. We saturate the airwaves with a lot of crap music.

That thing with Cannibal Corpse is really freakin shit. I mean come on, what would they do to them if they played Hammer Smashed Face? And is there some kind of dude who check which songs they play? Would they torture them or what? There is something wrong with German people, besides their taste for children prostitution...

Hell, Germany loves David Hasselhoff too. Remember when he performed during the deconstruction of the Berlin Wall?
HAHAHAH! that question came up when we played trivial persuit last night. I totally had no clue what the answer was. they were like "he likes to swim" and i still had no clue. and then my fiance was like "HHHHHHaaaaaaaa, HHHHAAaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!" finally i got it but they wouldn't let me have a pie... fuckers.
I don't think american's are jaded to metal it's just not as in over here unfortunately.

For KORN to bitch about the music industry is a joke, just like that video. Three or four years ago they were just as hip and cool as Usher or whoever is now. They greased the wheels and now that its not working for them they want to bitch.
