Planet Bullshit
Right now from where I am in SE N.Y.C, if you look pretty much due south, about 25-30 degrees above the horizon is Jupiter.

If you train a pair of binoculars on it you should be able to see at least four of its moons. I daresay if you have a tripod and less light pollution than we have in the metropolis then you might get an even better view. Either way, I recommend it.

:Spin:

I could only barely make out one of the moons, I assume it was the largest one, Ganymede. Pretty cool.

The last harvest moon was 20 years ago apparently.

theres only two objects visible where I am the moon being one of them obviously and what im guessing is jupiter it has a yellowish haze around it. but keep in mind I don't have binoculars or anything plus its pretty cloudy out

I am happy someone enjoyed it.

tomorrow (24th) is the time of year when, after nightfall, the dim Little Dipper (you'll need a dark sky) is dumping water into the bowl of the Big Dipper far below it.

I love this shIt.

Damnit, I wish I knew about this, I live in the middle of no where, and can usually see this shit pretty well(well as long as it isn't cloudy)

was able to see Jupiter. didn't want to scrounge around for my binoculars to try and see moons. it was pretty bright though

Well the moon looks more stunning than Jupiter. During the september equinox, a full moon is supposed to appear to be bigger or something. Jupiter just looks like a giant bright star, but the fact that you can see it is still cool.

space fucking scares me man.

Because I always start thinking about life on other planets, and wonder if there are other humanoids, or if there's life that's completely different from us.

and those fucking black holes, turning shit into nothing.

And it also makes me upset when I look into the sky and see a blinking star, which I heard is a star exploding. Imagine if there was a civilization as complex as we are that lived there, and in a billion years, that could be our sun. Imagine, everything all of us know, gone forever.

fuck space

however I still love it.

If humans still exist in a billion years, it won't be in this solar system.

I don't know why, but I feel like space is some kind of map/guide. That's what I think when am high and in space. And sometimes I will go into space for 2,3 hours for a few nights if am interested in what am seeing.

It was daylight when you woke up in your ditch.
You looked up at your sky then.
That made blue be your color.
You had your knife there with you too.
When you stood up there was goo all over your clothes.
Your hands were sticky.
You wiped them on your grass, so now your color was green.
Oh Lord, why did everything always have to keep changing like this.
You were already getting nervous again.
Your head hurt and it rang when you stood up.
Your head was almost empty.
It always hurt you when you woke up like this.
You crawled up out of your ditch
onto your gravel road and began to walk,
waiting for the rest of your mind to come back to you.
You can see the car parked far down the road
and you walked toward it.
"If God is our Father," you thought,
"then Satan must be our cousin."
Why didn't anyone else understand these important things?
You got to your car and tried all the doors.
They were locked.
It was a red car and it was new.
There was an expensive leather camera case laying on the seat.
Out across your field,
you could see two tiny people walking by your woods.
You began to walk towards them.
Now red was your color and, of course,
those little people out there were yours too.
