Just a recording question....

Ok...I have this old 16 channel SoundTech board that I remembered having some pretty decent channel preamps in it (sounded better than the dry, lifeless Behringer boards I have), so I decided to dig it out and use it for what its worth.

So...since I'm using 2 Delta 66 cards (giving me 8 inputs at once to my computer), and they use 1/4" cables....is it ok to use the inserts for recording purposes...going out of the board...or should I do something else? In other words, am I going to be losing fidelity using the inserts?

if you dont plug your cables till the end, you get direct outs. It works.

On the board I use you don't plug the jack all the way in if you don't want to use the EQ effects ect.....just the first click...
