BAND NAME: LARRY LEADFOOT
Larry Leadfoot was formed in the inner city Sydney suburb of Waterloo in 2011.
Band members are;
Aaron White - Guitar
Nick Parkinson - Drums
Tama Makiiti - Vocals
Larry Leadfoot’s sound is best described as a deep, guttural expression of darkness.
It is trippy, insane death metal that fuses extreme metal drumming and Latin percussion with heavy guitar and death growls painted on top.
Influences include;
Strapping Young Lad, Dethklok, Meshuggah, Mr. Bungle, Death, Psycroptic, Pantera, King Diamond, Deicide, Devin Townsend, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, Fantomas, Danny Heifetz, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, John Zorn, AC/DC, Cannibal Corpse, Sepultura, Soulfly, Faith No More, as well as a list of all kinds of music from classical to hip hop that could go on for weeks.
Larry Leadfoot released their debut EP ‘Hellxotica’ on August 23, 2015 and have recently been getting some airplay on internet radio.
However the guys have taken a brief hiatus to deal with some issues as well as Nick’s recent marriage and Tama’s time back at his native Lord Howe Island.
Aaron and Nick met during their childhood in the Blue Mountains but didn’t begin writing and playing music together until 2008.
In 2010 they enrolled at audio college which is where they met Tama who is originally from Lord Howe Island but went to high school in Sydney.
The guys began gigging and recording the EP in 2011.
Larry Leadfoot’s career highlights so far have been recording an early demo at Albert Studios in 2010 (AC/DC recorded their early albums there), their mini tour up to Nimbin and Brisbane in 2014, and being the first death metal band to ever perform at the Nimbin Mardi Grass cannabis reform rally.
