i have one of those.. what i like about it is how easy it is to clean. last week i recorded Greg P. from Dillinger Escape Plan, and let me tell you... that man expels some saliva (and some seriously killer vocals) from his mouth as he sings. when the session was over i just carried it over to the sink, washed it down with hot water and some hand soap, dried it off, done. doesn't build up a stink like the "panty hose" type.

Damn, that's a good idea.

We have to Lysol ours regularly. Starts to smell like a shit sandwich with a side of cigarettes and pint of stale beer if left unattended for too long. I'd love to not have to deal with that on a regular basis.

It's intended to break the SSSSS, is it? I heard about that.

I've heard of it being used as a pop filter, but I could see it working on ssssibilance as well, along with a little eq.

Like a pop filter, it's supposed to diffuse the air pressure right before it hits the mic diaphragm so it tones down the plosives.

Yeah, used the pen trick once for fun, it reduced the plosives quite well.
