Today I bought Decapitated's album 'Nihility'....

:OMG: :OMG: :OMG: :OMG:

It has blown me away!! It SLAYS!

:D

It's way more brutal than Winds of Creation IMO, and in many ways just more intense. That's not to say I prefer it quite yet, but I think I probably do, at least for now!

P.S. I'm seeing them in 4 days....*drools*

Wow... You are gonna flip when you actually find the real stuff.

Oh congratulations, you've happened to notice that I am announcing this not when it was released, but when I personally heard it.

Yeah I know. I was just say its about time that you heard it, kind of like a sarcastic remark thats not suposed to be negative, like "haha, you've only just heard it now, what have you been doing with your life?" :Smug:

I don't feel the content of this album deserves criticism per se... I just feel like that it as a whole is unnecessary, and not pushing the genre. I know groundbreaking was never a claim though. The essence of this band just seems to be a common factor in all the bands who made this genre what it is. If this record was purchased before some of those, then I would say one should educate themselves on the matter and make those other purchases.
summary: If you know of, and buy certain bands before others, you may save yourself some money. Not to mention the space occupied by cd's I would like to call unnecessary. Thus concludes my unnecessary observation and evaluation.

I know that was too lengthy to describe a very small point. I am trying to be civil in contrast to my normal manner.

I would delete my previous post. But I will let it stand as a reminder of my arrogance. I will just un-say it.

I used to like Nihility more than WoC, then I listened to WoC some more, and now I like it better. Regardless of that seemingly useless comment, good choice, Nihility is a great album. Download the video for 'Sphere of Madness' as well.

Nihility is by far their best album, due to the following factors:

- The songs have got a staccatto feel that I really like
- Good production (I like the triggered bass drums, actually - machine like and cold :) )
- Killer riffs (Perfect Dehumanization, 1:05, Mother War's opening riff, etc)
- More variety than on the other albums
