Something strange has washed ashore at Montauk Island, New York.

“This is an actual monster, some sort of rodent-like creature with a dinosaur beak. A tipster says that there is ‘a government animal testing facility very close by in Long Island,’” says Gawker in a posting for Tuesday, July 29, 2008.

HAhahahhahahahahaha, very nice Mike. But in all seriousness, I get a dog vibe from that thing as well, though god knows what's going on with that "beak." And Montauk does have some strange rumors surrounding it, but it's also a huge tourist destination!

There is a collage of pictures that a guy put together including an x-ray photograph, everything comparing this "monster" to a water rat. I will try to find the big version and put it up but it's extremely intriguing. Basically it looks like a decomposing water rat man, which would explain the lack of fur. The "beak", body structure/shape and the feet of the animal are all virtually identical. One person suggested, in regards to the different color of the carcass in the other picture, that the tide moved the carcass and also being in the sun can discolor a body during decomp.
