so I applied what i learned from that great book, also attempted to calibrate my monitors (Equator D5's) with REW 5. This is probly my best mix so far. Any advice?

This isnt bad at all, I have a few small critiques, the guitars are a few db loud imo, maybe some kind of warmth style plug to dull them a touch, they are just a bit harsh overall, the leads could be smoother sounding I want a small bell boost in the right spot in the 200-400 area, more of a neck pickup sound. I think the drums are a bit dry, even a small hall verb would go a long way on those toms and snare. They also sound a bit stiff, if its midi based I would go in and write some dynamics in there. I would also like a few extra db of kick. All in all it sounds good though.

Cool thanks so much! It helps so have a more experienced set of ears take a listen. I'll defiantly make those changes and post back

Right on man, I dont know how experienced I am in comparison to some of the heavy weights around here. I just get on kicks where I troll around in here to learn new things or see how others approach things. I think its always beneficial to have some outside perspective because its so easy to get burned out on a mix or just lose perspective.
