Don't know what the odds are of them playing over there..it all boils down to the venues or promoters there offering them a date that works with their tour schedule, & the finances being feasible. I'm sure they'd love to play there, as they've never been out there before, but they can't do so if no venues offer them the opportunity.

You guys don't know this, but Belgrade is wery rich in music festivals. Every central-or-eastern europian bend comes here almost once a year.

The problem is; most of those "artists" play "DUM-DUM-DUM" techno and those stuff. Metal is very popular here (for a country like Serbia it is much; i mean every fifth man you'll see in the streets is dressed in black) but no-one comes. Thus, prog music is very very popular.

If they can play here, it can only be done by renting a soccer stadion for an evening. Or being surrounded by drugs and those drum&bass people.

It can be payed off with tickets, soming here, if they were on a tour in a nearby country.. I can get many blood signs for the concert (it worked for manowar adleast ) soooo...

Yeah,it would be so cool for Symphony X to come here in Yugoslavia! Like everywhere,here are many SX fans. I have many friends in my city that are hungry (like me) to see the band. The first gig here would be blast for all of us (Metallica went great on their first gig here!).
Let's hope that Symphony X will come here on next tour.

Hey Jax, just a question.. say, trying to get them to a country.. would there have to be a set minimum fanbase based on album sales first, plus maybe someone seeking out venues to offer touring opportunity for it to be feasible for a visit? I'm curious for even a remote path at making something like that happen some day.

Actually what'd matter most when it comes to the band going to a remote place would be promoters who'd make it worth their while. If it were worth their while just to be there, then it wouldn't be so bad if the audience weren't as large as they'd hope.

I think the thing people don't realize is how ungodly expensive touring is. For example: for a domestic tour, just the cost of bus rental for a day is close to a thousand dollars, and that's not counting gas, paying the bus driver, paying the road crew, and a myriad of other expenses. Now for an international trip, add airfare back and forth..just flying the band overseas is a chunk of money, much less the crew & their equipment. And on top of that, the band needs to actually get paid..so you can see, it's not cheap, which is why most bands don't get to the more remote places..it's just not financially feasible.

Writing this out has made me think, though, and I think I'll talk to the band's manager & ask him what he thinks the best route would be to get the band to some of these places they've never been..he may have some ideas that I don't, as he's been in this business far longer & on a far more broader scope than I have. I'll let you know what he says.

I heared that Symphony X is coming to Argentina (i heared it from Ricadro Iorio, argentninan bass player from bands like Hermetica, V8 and Almafuerte), does someone know something about this??
