There are more things being affected than the metal category, but this almost puts the coffin on metal being nominated for anything as you know the majority of the songs nominated will be hard rock.

why even get worried about it? does it matter even? metal has and always be an over looked thing in the mainstream.

I'm not really worried about it as much as it just boggles my mind how the Grammys keep going down the tubes. The metal thing wasn't even the only thing. The fact that they got rid of the instrumental albums is interesting as well.

IMO the grammys lost all credibility and became irrelevant when Jethro Tull beat out Metallica for the best Metal peformance. Haven't given it the time of day since

Sad state of affairs there :-\ I wish it weren't that way... but we know it wont change. Winning a Grammy is like winning American Idol - is it really that much of an achievement?

The Oscars aren't so bad. Every year, I see about 90% of the nominated films in every category, and the lot of them are the best of the year. The problem comes with the politics behind choosing the winners. The Grammys on the other hand don't tend to have quality nominations to begin with.
