Hi.
My band is going to record an album soon. I'm trying to get a nice sound from my JVM with the use of impulses.
Please tell me what you think of the tone!

And by the way, we're a poppunk band, so don't expact anything heavy!

Cheers!

Soundclick
only drums and guitars on this one and the playing is pretty sloppy

The bass is not recorded on that one yet. It's coming though.
Here's some info on the guitars
ESP Eclipse Seymour Duncan > TS9 > JVM410 OD1 Green > Firestudio > Impulses.
Dualtracked.

Drums are DFHS with steven slate samples on snare and toms.
I haven't done much to the drums. Some EQ and compression on the hihat, overheads and ambience and a little compression on the snare.
On the masterbus I've got one compressor and two limiters.

love the Slate stuff

I used the Premier drumkit in DFHS.
The snare is the Snare3Z1a from SSD2.0 with a little bit of compression and a little bit of Z4 samples.
On the toms I just used the Qiktoms from SSD2.0, no other processing.
On hihat, overheads and ambience I used the URS Strip Pro. I used these presets on the channels:
HH - Drums:Hat
OH - Drums: OH2, and then I put a lowcut filter at 500hz.
AMB - Room: Room3, and then lowcut at about 100hz.
That's pretty much it. I feel like I'm a little bit lazy when using presets but at the time I was just trying to get a good tone and didn't care to much about the drums.

Akarawd, you're right about the midrange. I have to do some more eq on the guitars!

Thanks guys for your comments!
