Does anyone know what amps Jean-Francois used on Serenity in Fire/In Arms of Devastation/Live in Deutschland?

the DVD is most likely reamped though, considering the amount of backing guitars that can be heared on that disk.
anyways, JF is quite known for being a long time 5150 user, in the studio at least. i think everything from shadows to dust on was tracked using a 5150. i don't know any details for the older records, but in the arms of devastation was a 5150 through a krank 412 cab with no boosts whatsoever involved...coming from the man himself. since the head wasn't boosted i'd suppose he used the lead channel.
live, he used to use a line 6 flextone II head for quite a long time, but when that one broke down he switched to a rack based around a pod xt pro through whatever poweramp is available. when i saw them a few years ago, he used that rack through the poweramp of the TSL100 rented for the tour, and i swear his sound was just like the record. extremely clear, tight, and punchy.
once again goes to show you that using modelers live can work out nicely, but i guess that's only true if either both guitar players are going that route, or you're the only guitar player in the band like in the case of kataklysm....

when i saw them they were all using randall T2s and im pretty sure no other amp was behind them as the stage was barely big enough to fit all 4 of those with the drums. the tone on the arms of devastation has always sounded odd to me. it sounds like it is overgained.
i imagine he could plug into any high gain tube head, or pod and dial in a very similar tone live anyways
we used a randall lynchbox head with an ultra xl module for the new record, due out later this year. came out killer.

Big Katakylsm fan myself. Can't wait to hear the production one this one! Jason, maybe you can give some insight on the drums for this album? Kit - mics - heads - trigger setup? I thought the trigger sounds on In The Arms sounding much more natural than Serenity, while the latter is my favorite album so far.
