what are your guy's thoughts on Kataklysm. I just started to listen to them, and I really like their music. Myabe some of you can share your favorite albums?

I like em. Serenity in Fire and Shadows and Dust are both cool. sometimes the vocals get annoying though

I've only heard Shadows and Dust. Can't say much of it though, but I should definitely give them another listen.

They're a bit of a 'meh' band for me. The drumming gets tedious, and I can only take so much of the same chuggy riffs. But I don't think they're a bad band really.

I thought some of their artwork looked pretty cool, so I checked em out... thought their music was pretty boring.

I tried out Serenity in Fire.
Because of what i heard and read i thought they would be extreme and progressive, ie something like Gorguts, newer Death or maybe Suffocation or Nile.
But it was just boring, easy-listening rocking death metal.
Nice party music maybe.

Gorguts > Any Death Metal to ever come out of Canada. Especially Cryptopsy.

Their drummer sounds unintentionally off rythmn and has the worst kick drums. Don't care for them.

 

[Raffft]

Mystical Gate, Sorcery, and Temple of Knowledge are all awesome. Everything after that (excluding Norther Hyperblast Live) was terrible, and as someone mentioned before, "rockish" death metal.

I do listen to both of those bands, I'm just wondering about people's opinions on Kataklysm.
