Kataklysm's New Album 'Prevail'

Who is a big fan of Kataklysms new album Prevail. Tell me what you think about it and what are you favourite songs on the album. But also if you're not a fan of it i would like your input too.

My favourite song on it is Breate to Dominate, it's a good song but the rest of the songs sound too melodic to me, this album is fine though.

I used to be more into them, and still enjoy their live shows, but the newest material is hit and miss.

I prefer their older stuff as the recent releases seem quite bland and 'weak' in comparison.

From the two tracks i've heard on their myspace, sounds very generic and boring.

I really enjoyed "In The Arms" and a bunch of their older stuff but the new one sounds pretty watered down. Lacks badass riffs, catchy choruses, epic melodies, etc, reminds me of Epic with a more muscular guitar tone at points.

Yep, pretty bland nowadays. Their progression, if you can call it that, reminds me of Deicide's carreer. Except Kataklysm hasn't done a Stench of Redemption type album yet. Maybe next year...

As Death Lingers is my favorite. There may be somehthing wrong with me, but it's one of the best albums I've listened to this year. And of course they were the best band on Summer Slaughter this year.

I listened to "Taking The World By Storm", and after hearing that, I'd love to get the album, but I haven't yet.

yeah i heard that song first and loved it so i went and got it and it only gets better.

It's not a bad disc, but older stuff is much better
