We're off again, november means the "small" KIT festival again.
Small, but lots of interesting bands again...Unfortunatly Toxik canceled, the were replaced by Hirax. Finally going to see Leatherwolf in original line-up !!! And I'm very curious for the smaller bands like Sacred Oath and Pagan Altar... Review after the weekend off course !

Leatherwolf, Hirax, Enforcer and Pagan Altar...I do really hate you gert :p

Sacred Oath and Steel Assassin, the bands that released the best US power albums of the year so far. And Leatherwolf... Grrrrr.......

Is it Olivieri singing for Leatherwolf?

Knock yourselves out...:kickass:

Yup he is singing for Leatherwolf again. :)

I'll be seeing them Sunday at the Dynamo for 5 euro. :headbang:
I will not be joining Gert for KIT this time. I have things to do here in Eindhoven...

Just got back from KIT 9. We had a real nice trip, for the first time no traffic jams towards and back from Germany. Great sights on the way there; the fall colors of the woods on mountains look awesome.
One of the better overall KITs I saw this time. Only one band was "bad"; Portrait from Sweden, some kind of an attempt of King Diamond vocals and boring music. For the rest all of the bands were good to very good!
Opener was Enforcer, the vocalist had some problems of staying in tune the first songs, but after a while he sounded great. They play the kind of 80's spandex style Euro Metal, with some extra hooks in it to keep it interesting. Steel Assesin and Pagan Altar had some problems with vocals that were mixed too much to the background. Again I got to say; are some sound guys DEAF ???? Is it that hard to turn up a vocal channel a bit so you can actually hear it ??? Hirax also suprised me; I am only a fan of their earlier crossover stuff, but the whole set was very good; damn heavy thrash and that Boney-M vocalist was never better :) Pagan Altar also was very good to my suprise. Only the vocalist, who has an interesting voice, was too much on the background. I also had the impression he didn't put any power in his voice, just moaning the lyrics. But a cool gig anyway, great guitar player btw !! Steel Assessin and Sacred Oath brought some great and powerful US-Metal, and Leatherwolf in original line-up (except bass)...AWESOME !!
The atmosphere was superb, only one little incident in the moshing action of Hirax, but vocalist Katon resolved that in a very cool way; he immediatly stopped the music and gave a lesson how Metal fans should behave; "as brothers and not enemies". Katon earned the respect of all Metalheads there, this guy knows what Metal is about !

Well, up to KIT 10 than. And we also already got the line up for KIT 11 (november 2008), man , these guys know how to make interesting bills !!

Flotsam & Jetsam (USA, old school show)
Girlschool (UK)
Tokio Blade (UK)
Artillery (Danmark)
Forte (USA)
Evil(Danmark)
Blaspheme (Fr)
Faith Factor (USA)
Hellhound (Jap)

A friend of me made some great (full concert) video-shots of Leatherwolf, Steel Assessin and Sacred Oath. I'll post here when he puts some parts of those online on Youtube. Camera restrictions at KIT ??? What's a camera :)

Have a great time with Leatherwolf in the Dynamo Hawk !! I'm gonna pass for that. Gotta work early tomorrow.
Probably going to see the Sacred Oath concert in Belgium again next weekend and also Mario's Metal Mania (with Raven, Ram, Divine Ruins,.....)

Are we talking the same Enforcer, isn't a thrash band?
Hirax also suprised me; I am only a fan of their earlier crossover stuff, but the whole set was very good; damn heavy thrash and that Boney-M vocalist was never better :) The atmosphere was superb, only one little incident in the moshing action of Hirax, but vocalist Katon resolved that in a very cool way; he immediatly stopped the music and gave a lesson how Metal fans should behave; "as brothers and not enemies". I had become a huge Hirax fan in a short time, wish I could have been there.

Girlschool (UK)
Tokio Blade (UK)
Artillery (Danmark)
Forte (USA)
Blaspheme (Fr)
Hellhound (Jap)

FUCK!

I can't believe another great show I'm gonna miss. I just become a fan of Forte plus Tokyo Blade, Girlschool, Blaspheme and Hellhound (and Artillery is not a bad extra).

How you guys in Europe dare to complaint about the lack of shows or the quality of shows in USA? KIT is definitively today the best show possible.

Thanks buddy!! :)

I would like to truck along to Sacred Oath if thats alright.
Hope to see you again soon. Its been to long. :)

Does anyone know the Steel Assassin setlist? How many from the first album did they play? The same question goes for Sacred Oath.

No, definatly not thrash...You can compare them to bands like Pretty Maids, Mad Max, Torch, etc... Also very young guys, not an 'old' oldschool band.

Hmm I thought it was these guys http://www.myspace.com/enforcerswe , I found them very speed metal towards thrash similar to Abattoir or Zeotrope. Maybe I been hearing too much thrash lately :zombie:

checked it and indeed are these guys. Well, they played some faster songs, but I didn't really relate them to thrash, rather up tempo metal. They don't look "thrash" either. But anyway, quit good band, whatever devision they're playin' in :loco:
