"it is with extreme sadness to tell you that Kelly Johnson, original member of Girlschool and our best friend has passed away on Sunday the 15th of July after fighting a 6 year battle with cancer of the spine."

R.I.P. Kelly.

I was fortunate enough to see Girlschool about 20 years ago...I think it was with Motorhead and Maiden but I can't be 100% sure.

Kelly was an irreplaceable musician. I was lucky enough to see Girlschool in the early 90's when they came thru Minneapolis. Also, I did get a chance to talk with her after the show. She was a very real and kind person with a beautiful and vulnerable musical talent.

I was always waiting to hear if she was back in Girlschool so I could see her again..........I will treasure the albums that she played on.
