The sister and I went to a screening of "Clerks" at the Arclight tonight.
I've always loved these things, you know. Getting to hear about the movie, from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
Anyway, 10 years later, the movie is even funnier, and getting to hear the behind the scenes stories, made the movie even more interesting.
Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes (Jay), Brian O'Halloran (Dante), Jeff Anderson (Randall), Marilyn Ghilgiotti (Veronica), Scott Mosier (producer) and David Klein (cinematography), were present for the Q&A, which was being taped for the upcoming (October) 10th anniversary DVD.
I didn't know that Kevin Smith would work at the store during the day, then the store would close at 10, and shooting would start then and end just before the store re-opened.
Also, Jay is now sober and he confessed that he doesn't remember any of the shoot, because he was messed up most of the time. He made a funny dirty comment to my sister on the way out (we left before it was over). We saw Jason Mewes outside and my sister was telling Jay that she'd never finished watching Clerks. He said, "you fell asleep, were you getting naughty." Then I interjected and said to her... how old were you, 8, 9? He shut up, but remained pleasant (good looking guy, now that he doesn't have the pot-head look). His companion made a comment on my "Creed Sucks" t-shirt
Good time, great movie...
Got my tickets for Kill Bill vol 1 and 2 for Thursday at the Arclight (rumor has it, Tarantino will be there... )
