I 100% welcome any of these ethnic istruments or others into CID music. I wish we already had other instruments incorporated to be honest.

We need to purchase them and learn to play them. I don't think we should have them in there for the sake of having them, but I think if we're writing music like we normally do, and we came to a part that we thought might work well with a different type of instrument we should try it.

Write to write the music we like, not just for the sake you know?

More specifically what I mean is that if we had one on hand that we would probably be more inclined to the experimentation. Kind of like the ebow, before we had one I don't think we knew exactly that we would incorporate one or how. Actually the ebow turned out the opposite of what was intended, being John incorporating it's use instead of Coy.

All hilarity aside, I would gladly welcome the inclusion of ethnic instruments into your sound. Being a fan of Dead Can Dance, Trial of the Bow, Orphaned Land, Karl Sanders, Sufjan Stevens etc. etc. I'm always glad to see a band that chooses not just to limit itself to guitars.

We have a didgeridoo at practice actually. I don't think we've found a proper way to incorporate it into our music yet, probably because none of us have come close to mastering it.
