Kings of Old School - I summon thy knowledge!

Hey gang. This is driving me crazy so I need your help figuring out something.

Check out this song by Manta Ray:



I am trying to figure out the vocalist this guy reminds me of, dead ringer. It's something old school and it's right on the tip of my BRAIN but I can't figure it.

He's especially reminiscent around the 1:20 mark and 1:30 mark. The scream around 1:32 in particular is a DEAD ringer for another vocalist, it's the particular harmony he's doing there.

Any ideas who I am trying to think of!?

The vocals remind me slightly of John Arch, but there might other vocalists who sound similar and who I've never heard.

At times yes, but not the one I am trying to figure. Also sounds at times a bit like Helstar.

Was gonna say John Arch as well, but there are many singers he's similar to in the late 80s/90s prog metal scene. Letter X, Mystic Force, Crimson Glory, even a bit of Kiske.

EDIT: WAIT - that's wrong - but it helped somehow. Carl Albert - Vicious Rumors! Listen to those couple time marks knowing who I was trying to think of - DEAD ringer but I think it's the particular type of harmonies he uses. Awesome. Guys in the Divebomb Records forum got it (this album is a Divebomb "Bootcamp" release - highly recommended).

Carl Albert - Vicious Rumors!

Carl's got more grit in his voice than Manta Ray's singer - MR's being more operatic in his approach. But yes, still quite similar.

I just listened to the entire EP on Manta Ray's Bandcamp page, and honestly it sounds like a cross between Queensryche's Rage/Warning and Fates Warning's Perfect Symmetry. Good stuff.
