That's right, King's X vocalist Doug Pinnick is joining Living Colour for a month on the road in Europe this summer. He's actually replacing LC vocalist Corey Glover on the mic temporarily. This will happen in Europe ONLY, according to my sources. Rock on!:kickass: :headbang: :worship:

I agree that Corey is great but you cant knock Doug Pinnick!! He is amazing. Kings X in my opinion is one of the most original bands out there. He has so much soul and emotion in his voice!
Damn right!:headbang:

within the top 10 worst ever? WOW!!! I cant quite comprehend where your musical tastes lie, Gretchen Goes To Nebraska is one of MY top 10 favorite albums!
Planet & Gretchen are 2 of the greatest progrock discs out there, IMO.

I would be pretty pissed to get into a Living Colour concert to find out that Doug Pinnick was singing. I personally think that King's X is one of the most overrated bands out there. I don't see how their style is considered progressive metal. I can see how they may have had an influence on the alternative scene of the 90s, but that's about it. I've had the displeasure of seeing them open for bands twice, and though I never cared for their music, I gave them an open and honest listen both times. Both times, I just stood there shaking my head. Is it just me, or does Pinnick always sing out of key? Also, what's up with Ty Tabor? Does he think he's Trey Anastasio or something? His hippie vocals and guitar style don't fit with their heavy approach. While they are hailed for their vocal harmonies, what these ears hear is three bad voices making a huge mess. I wish for the best for Living Colour on this tour, but if I were them, I'd avoid the embarrassment and just cancel.

Stay metal. Never rust.

Great point here. I remember years ago being excited for the John Myung/Derek Sherinian side project, Platypus. However, it's an album I rarely even think about anymore due to Ty Tabor's sub-par contributions. The vocals he adds are not consistent with the music and his melodies are completely boring and unoriginal. For me, he ruined the project.

Whew..... I can honestly say that King's X's show at the (old) Cotton Club here in Atl. was one of the top 20 best live shows I've ever seen. I'll never forget Doug's soulful passion and the crowd singing along to "Over My Head." It was nothing short of magical. (And they did "Lost In Germany," too, but Doug had to pull a Dan Swano on THAT one. :D )

I've seen them play shows in Athens and 2 in ATL, as well as 3 back in TX. Great stuff every time!
